How to send your first envelope in Siggy

A five-minute walkthrough: upload a PDF, add recipients, place signature fields, send — and what your client sees on the other side.

An envelope is a document (or a bundle of documents) sent for signature, plus everything around it: recipients, signing order, fields, reminders and the audit trail. Here's the whole flow, end to end.

1. Upload your documents

From the dashboard, choose New envelope and drop in one or more PDFs. Multiple files can stay separate (so you can replace one later) or merge into a single document. Give the envelope a title your client will recognise — it appears in the email they receive.

2. Add recipients

Add each person who needs to sign, with their name and email. Choose sequential routing if people must sign in order (client first, then partner), or parallel if everyone can sign at once. Anyone who only needs the finished document can be added as a copy recipient — they get the sealed PDF at the end without signing.

3. Place the fields

Drag fields from the left panel onto the page: signature, initials, date signed, name, text, checkboxes. Each recipient has a colour, so a two-signer document stays legible. Use Preview to see the document exactly as your recipient will — sample data and all — before anything goes out.

4. Send and track

Hit Send. Each signer receives an email with a secure link — no account, no app, no password on their side. They consent to signing electronically, fill their fields, draw or type their signature, and submit.

You can watch progress live on the envelope: who's viewed, who's signed, who needs a nudge. Automatic reminders re-email anyone who hasn't signed, on the cadence you set in Preferences.

5. The sealed result

When the last signer finishes, everyone gets the completed document. The final PDF is tamper-evidently sealed and comes with a Certificate of Completion — the who, when and where of every signature — filed with the document itself. That certificate is what makes the signature defensible years later.

How many envelopes a month you get, and what unlocks templates and bulk send, is set out on the pricing page. If you are sending for a practice rather than the occasional one-off, how accountants use Siggy covers the workflow end to end — engagement letters, reminders and identity verification in the same sitting.
